Melaka Trip - Dec 2011

Went to Melaka yesterday. OMG... I think Melaka has got 1000000000000 visitors yesterday. Took us almost 5 hours just to reach Melaka town!!! Here are some pictures taken during the short day trip.

She is almost 2 1/2 year now... time flies.. she is super duper hyper active and notty now.. sometimes I don't even know how to handle her!!

Kaya and Coffee Steamed Layer Cake

I love this recipe very much, simple and nice. Got this from one of my recipe book collection, but I left it in Miri so can't remember the chef's name.. :p

Here is the recipe for those who wish to try to bake this yummy cake...

250g butter

75g caster sugar

6 eggs (size B)

250g kaya

125g condense milk

125g plain flour

2 1/2 tbsp coffee (mix with hot water)

1. Beat butter & sugar until fluffy, add in eggs one at a time.

2. Add in kaya and condense milk.

3. Fold in flour.

4. Divide mixture into 2 portions. Add in coffee to one of the mixture,

5. Steam layer by layer; 8 minutes per layer. Steam 15 minsture after final layer.

Choose good butter, if you choose those low quality ones, your cake will turn out very oily. You may want to reduce the condense milk to 100g if you prefer the cake to be not too sweet, or you can purchase less sweet kaya.

The taste of the cake very much depending on the kaya that you use, I usually go for homemade kaya sold at most bakery shop and/or pasar malam/pagi.

Japanese & Korean Food

Few weeks back, I visited Isetan... and so.. decided to "ta pau" home some japanese and korean food back for dinner. I always feel that Isetan sells the best Sushi compared to other supermarket.

I also bought a pack of Korean glass noodle. The taste was OK, the sesame taste was way too strong for my liking.

And.. I also bought a pack of instant miso soup, I bought clam flavor.. the taste was not too bad, the next visit, I try for another flavor because the clam flavor is a lil "fishy" for my liking... i've added some tofu... the preparation was simple, all you need to do is just add the instant miso with hot water, the tofu was from the fridge.. so I boiled it before i added into the miso soup...

Again.. xmas is around the corner, my office was decorated with xmas tree too :) It is placed at the lobby...

We had quite a few of interview going on in the office, i guess those who came would think.. "wow...this is going to be fun and lovely place to work at!" XD... coz there is... a huge Stitch sitting there :)

After like 1000 years i managed to find a time writing something here, that is on the first day of cny in the toilet :)

I do hope i have more time to write more... So that i can have a good laff in the future. I will be complaining a lot here... And i hope it is ok... Hahhah
